How AdLibraryGuide checks every ad library

AdLibraryGuide takes facts about each ad library only from the platform’s own help pages, documentation or the law that requires the library, and every interface claim is backed by a screenshot taken on a stated date. A figure without a source and a date does not appear on this site.

Every statement about what a library shows, how long it keeps ads or which countries it covers comes from the platform’s own documentation: Meta’s Ad Library help, Google’s Ads Transparency Center help, LinkedIn’s Help Center, TikTok’s Commercial Content Library notes, and the EU Digital Services Act where a library exists because of it. Third-party blogs are used only to find where to look, never as the source.

Each guide is built on our own session in the library, opened without logging in, from a United States connection unless the guide says otherwise. A screenshot always carries a caption with the search we ran, the filters, the number of results the library itself reported and the date. Libraries change their interface without notice, so a caption with a date is the only honest way to show one.

Retention periods, country coverage and API terms are reread from the source before any page that prints them is updated, and the “checked” date on a page moves only when the figures were actually reread. A page is never re-dated just because it was rebuilt.

Official libraries are not ranked against each other with a single score. Meta’s library answers “what is this page running”, Google’s answers “what has this advertiser shown on Search, YouTube and Display”, LinkedIn’s answers “what is this company promoting to professionals”. A score would hide which question each one answers.

If a library changes and a page has not caught up, the page is corrected and the date of the correction is shown next to the changed statement.

AdLibraryGuide takes every fact about an ad library from the platform’s own help pages, documentation or the law that requires the library, such as the EU Digital Services Act. Third-party blogs are used only to find where to look and are never cited as the source of a fact.
